STEVE NOLAN
Steve Nolan has over 40 years of experience within the entertainment industry as a Producer, Production Manager, Technical Director and Lighting Designer. His portfolio covers Sporting Events and Ceremonies to Public Events, Concerts, Television and Theatrical Productions.
Starting with ‘The Damned’ at just age 16, Steve went on to work with Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Frank Sinatra, Dire Straits, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, James Brown, Robert Palmer and The Rolling Stones before founding chromatic productions in 1990.
Since then Steve has gone on to production manage major events such as the Help for Heroes Concert 2010, the Paralympics Closing Ceremony 2012, the Rugby World Cup Opening Ceremony 2015, the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony 2022, the Queens Platinum Jubilee Concert at Buckingham palace 2022 and The Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle 2023.
In this period, Steve also production managed Raymond Gubbay’s Classical Spectacular shows for over 32 years and has been the producer and technical director for Jeff Waynes Musical Version of the War of the Worlds since its inception in 2006.
Aside from his experience in production management, Steve has been the video lighting director for the 25th and 30th Anniversary Concerts of the legendary ‘Les Misérables’, the BAFTA Awards ceremonies for over 15 years, George Michael at Wembley stadium and AC-DC’s ‘Shot in the Dark’ music video.
Steve has also worked as the video lighting director for Muse live at the Olympic Stadium Rome, U2 experience + innocence Berlin and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert 2012.
In 1999, Steve ventured into producing launching his first live production based on one of the ancient Shaolin Temple Kung Fu legends “Shaolin Wheel of Life”. That was quickly followed by two sequel shows, Kung Fu Masters and then Shaolin The Return of the Five Elders.
The shows have toured around the world and sold hundreds of thousands of DVDs.
